Off Leash K9 Training Boise trains dogs in Eagle and across Ada County.
Eagle owners tend to want a dog they can take everywhere: the river, the trails and downtown. That is what our private obedience lessons and board and train programs are built for. Every program and price is on our plans and pricing page.
Why professional training is essential for Eagle dog owners
Behavior modification
Address jumping, pulling, barking, anxiety, and reactivity at the root, not just the symptom.
Safety & control
A dog that listens the first time is a safer dog around traffic, livestock, wildlife, and people.
Stronger bond
Clear communication builds trust, so your dog looks to you for direction instead of guessing.
Skills that transfer
We hand the training over to you at pickup, so the obedience keeps working at home.
Family harmony
A calm, well-mannered dog means a calmer home for kids, guests, and other pets alike.

Built for how Eagle dogs actually live
Eagle Island State Park, Reid Merrill Park and the paths along the Boise River are great places to take a trained dog, and great places to find out your dog is not quite trained yet. Wildlife, bikes and other dogs test a recall fast.
The 2 Week Board & Train works on coming when called outside, off leash, around distractions, plus greeting manners and waiting at doors and gates. For owners who want more, the 3 Week Board & Train adds four advanced commands such as down at a distance.
Lessons suit owners who want to do the work alongside a trainer over a few weeks; board and train suits owners who would rather a trainer do the heavy lifting first. We will tell you honestly which one fits your dog on a free phone call.
Where your dog will shine

Megan Klawiter has been a dog owner and enthusiast her whole life. At 16 she talked her family into a Great Dane puppy, and working out how to give that dog the best life is what sent her into training as a career. She started in the dog training industry in 2012.
She runs Off Leash K9 Training Boise with Paul Klawiter, a professional trainer since 2013 whose work has included service dogs, confidence building and helping dogs that needed a second chance. Megan's favorite part of the job is teaching owners how to build their bond with their dog through training.
Frequently asked questions
Do you train dogs from Eagle?
Yes. Eagle is one of the Treasure Valley towns we serve. Lessons are by appointment, and we set the place with you when you book. We usually train somewhere other than your living room on purpose: a dog that learns to listen with real distractions around listens everywhere. See the Basic Obedience lessons for what is covered.
How does board and train work?
Your dog boards with a pro trainer and trains every day, for one, two or three weeks. You then get a one-on-one session that shows you what your dog learned and how to handle them: 1.5 hours after the one-week Freedom program and 2 hours after the 2 Week Board & Train. The one-week program is on-leash only.
How old does my dog need to be?
We start e-collar training at five months old. If your dog is younger, call us and we will tell you what fits.
How much does dog training cost?
Private lessons are $675 for four and $975 for eight, and the eight-lesson Aggressive/Reactive program is $1,000. Board and train is $1,800 for one week, $2,900 for two weeks and $4,350 for three. Every program is listed on our plans and pricing page. Payment plans are available. Call us today to learn more about payment options.
Will the e-collar hurt my dog?
No. At our first meeting we put the e-collar on your arm so you can feel how mild it is. We use it to get your dog's attention, like a tap on the shoulder, never as punishment. Lesson packages include the e-collar and a 15-foot leash.
